| Now better known by their individual names, 'Cross Cottages' and 'Woodbine Terrace' constituted the boundary of 'Box Square'. Currently converted into 6 better proportioned cottages, Box Square was at one time 13 "one up and one down" dwellings housing as many as 40 occupants. | From 1900 Trullwell House (above and also see "Historic Box") was the home of Mr Fyffe (of shipping and banana fame). He owned the first car in Box and in exchange for cutting a private road from the rear of Trullwell to the Common, he was obliged to give a piece of land twice the area of the turf he removed, the shape of which gives its name to the land and the house known as "The Triangle". |

| Now you see it............ | ....but now you don't ! A new view across Box briefly opened up in 2005 whilst Pear Cottage's wall was rebuilt, but has since given way to some fine, new Cotswold stonework. |
