Box Open Gardens Day on Sunday 15th June 2008 was one of the most successful for many years.

On a glorious summer day the twelve open gardens were visited by over 600 visitors who were very complimentary about all the gardens and considered the £3.50 entrance fee great value for money. Gate receipts amounted to £2152 and sales of Cream Teas brought in £570. They were so popular that they were sold out by about 4 p.m. !

Donations, including a very generous gift from Chris French following her much visited Plants Sale, came to £210 bringing the total proceeds to £2932. With Expenses totaling £594.60 the net profit was £2337.40, which will be donated to The Cotswold Care Hospice and the Minchinhampton-Nkokoto Link.

Thanks go to all those who opened their gardens and supplied Cream Teas, those who manned the entrance gates and car parks, and those who organised the Art Exhibition in the Village Hall and the Floral Display and Exhibition in St Barnabas Church. With the Nailsworth Silver Band playing on the very tidy Village Green it was a great day!
