BOX VILLAGE WALKERS

Box Village Walkers restarted their walks programme on Sunday 2^nd October 2011 at 10.30am and there will be another walk on each first Sunday of the following 5 months. Everyone is most welcome to come along.

Walks 1,2,3 and 5 start from, and end in, the Bus Park in Nailsworth. Walk 4 starts from Box Village Hall and Walk 6 from the car park at Woodchester Mansion. Walkers are encouraged to share cars to go there and back from Box. Please note the dates below.

WALK 1  Sunday 2^nd Oct 2011 (completed)

Barcelona Lane, Barton End and Tetbury Lane.

4 ½  miles / Approx 2 ½ hrs.

Some of the walk is on field footpaths and it starts with a steep climb. Boots are recommended.

WALK 2  Sunday 6^th November  2011

4 ½ miles / Approx 4 ½ hrs.

Shipton’s Grave Lane, Longford’s Mill and Devil’s Elbow.

Some of the walk is on bridal paths and it starts with a steep climb.

Boots are recommended 

WALK 3.   Sunday 4^th Dec  2011

Millbottom, Washpool, Horsley and Wallow Green.

3 miles / Approx 1 ½ hrs

Minor roads and field footpaths. 2 short climbs in the middle.

WALK 4.  Sunday 1^st January   2012

This is the traditional Box New Year Walk starting from Box Village Hall  ending with lunch in the village hall. Itinerary to be arranged.

WALK 5  Sunday 5^th February 2012

Dark Lane, Bunting Hill and Windsoredge.

1 ½ hrs

Boots are recommended

WALK 6  Sunday 4^th March 2012

Starting from the car park  at Woodchester Mansion.

Route to be decided on the day.
