BOX BRIDGE AND MAHJONG GROUPS
Box Bridge Club
Box Improvers Bridge Club
Box Village Hall Thursday Evenings From 11th September 2008
The club reconvened on the 11th September but it’s never too late to come along. The main objective of the club is to provide a welcoming place to gain experience for those who want to play the game in a relaxed atmosphere with an element of competition. This is supplemented with tuition and support to help players improve. This year there will be revision lessons, a beginners course and regular friendly but competitive bridge. New or old members are welcome.
Revision lessons – I will be giving a series of short revision lessons for those who would like to refresh or update their bidding, this will run from September to Christmas. If these are well received I would hope to run a series on card play after Christmas. These short lessons will run from 6.45 to 7.15 and we will then be joined by other members for the regular bridge sessions.
Regular bridge –will continue starting at 7.15 playing approximately 16 hands and finishing at about 10.00pm. Partners can usually be found if needed. Always time for refreshments.
Beginners lessons - At 7.30 I will be running a series of lessons for complete beginners which will last for about an hour and be followed by some practice hands. This course will be about 20 lessons running until April. Try it - I know there are a number of people around the village who have expressed an interest in learning to play bridge. Please come along for the first couple of sessions, which will be very gentle, to try it out.
We look forward to seeing new faces. If you wish to discuss anything please contact me:-
