A Retrospective Exhibition of the work of local artist Terry Thomas

Do you own one of Terry Thomas's water-colours, drawings, cartoons, mug designs or Christmas cards? Perhaps you have memories of this warm, colourful character who so enriched the life of Avening, Box, Amberley and Minchinhampton for many years?

Some of his old friends, with the support of his wife Joyce and family, are hoping to bring together as many of his works as possible for an exhibition in the Market House, Minchinhampton on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October which will be open to the general public.

We would be delighted if you are able to loan any of Terry's works to us for that weekend. We will be setting up the exhibition on the afternoon and evening before (Friday 9th Oct) and, of course, promise that they will be treated with the utmost care.

You may know of other work by Terry which can be photographed; murals, pub signs etc., or the whereabouts of other works around the area. If so, please let us know. We're sure this will be a fascinating exhibition and look forward to hearing from you.

The new owners have returned the pub to our village, with a bar menu from £4 to £10, and the restaurant has non fussy dishes, including Fish of the Day from Brixham and traditionally aged meats.

Any good? Well here's one unsolicited quote:

"I ate there with my eldest son and his wife on Sunday and we all had the most delicious roast beef etc that we can remember. Do get up there soon to show support and to enjoy yourselves! "     RD
